The ANTI-Planned Obsolescence Tool

The SILCA presta pump is one of the pinnacles of civilization. It is well built, repair-able after 30 years or more, and allows for a cyclists continued green transportation.

In all the cry to recycle, I prefer: “NEVER BREAK! NEVER DISCARD!”

The Silca pump exemplifies this perfectly.

While I’m happy to have my SILCA pumps back to productive use, I’d be remiss not to mention that other companies also “get it” when it comes to fighting obsolescence, specifically, the folks at Topeak who made my Joe Blow Sport pump. I knew Joe was the pump for me when the owner of Nor Door Sport & Cyclery in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, showed me a full case of seals and small parts for the full line of Topeak pumps. So, kudos to that company as well.

Enjoy your site. Thanks for the link.
